Toilet Less Than 12 Inches Wall

The most standard rough in dimension is 12 inches but some toilets call for a 10 inch or 14 inch rough in.

If your rough in is less than 11 inch like a 10 7 8 or a 10 3 4 inch rough in you ll probably not be able to install the 12 inch toilets you buy. And that could easily take up a good 3 to 4 inches of valuable length space. That will most likely be a 10 or 14 inch rough in model. It appears standard toilets are 12 inches from the opening to the wall.

Any more or less than that and you ll need a toilet designed specifically for this distance. The main reason is the bowl will have a platform to support the tank. The more room the better but don t make it any smaller than the minimum. We have11 inches only.
